Part 1: Finding Buller

How much to pack, how much to pack, how much to pack. This much. Two big bags (not full), one brand new pack, one computer bag. Should do the trick.

This rather uninteresting picture was taken in the Melbourne airport while waiting for Don from Mt. Buller to come pick me up. He soon showed up and we were off to the mountain.

The drive up to Buller took us through rolling hills, farmland, sheep land, cow land, and horse land. Finally Mt. Buller appeared on the skyline.

This is the palatial residence that is known as room 11. It's essentially large enough to hold the bed with about 2.5 feet on the side and at the end of the bed.

It's all I needed. In fact it was more than I needed...I think a floor with a pillow would have been just fine (I was a bit tired).

Of course there are always a few things that  make you slap your head and say "doh!" After travelling for 24 hours I looked (and smelled), well, like I had been travelling for 24 hours.

A shower seemed like a good idea until I realized that I had neglected to pack one important item: a towel.

Fortunately there's a hotel nearby. I walked in, said "hey, can I get a towel?" They said "sure" and handed me a towel. Nice guys those hotel people. Maybe next time I'll try being an actual guest...

The white blob in this picture is the very nice towel. Very nice indeed.
